I’ve just installed “Snap Shots” from snap.comThe first time I saw something like this was at, I think, Livejournal.  I remember thinking, oh my god, how cool is that! I feel like one of the cool kids now.  So I hope you enjoy all the snappy goodness in any links I post.  Oh, and James, if you’re reading, I’d love to hear what TheInfopreneur says about this sort of eye-candy.

I’m reproducing below, snap.com’s “canned” intro that they recommend you give to your users/readers.  There are a number of different types of links in there to give you a nice feel for what it does.

Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.

Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you “look ahead,” before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.

Help me write more great articles like this, fuel my mojo with a coffee!
