MyLikes

Get paid for liking stuff!

About a month ago I read an article on WassupBlog where my fellow Aussie, @AussieSire was writing about a new “word of mouth” advertising mob, called MyLikes.  I’m normally quite skeptical of things like this, but this time I thought I’d check it out.  I signed up that day, and a month later here is what I think…

The other week I came across an interesting article on Twitip by Chris Webb (@FreeWebApps).  It was about a new service (for want of a better term) from Twitter called @Anywhere.  Let me tell you… @Anywhere is nothing short of amazing!  With it, you can give any website the ability to interact with Twitter directly (no need for any 3rd party apps) with just a few lines of javascript.

You WILL be heard

When Kaitlyn (my almost-ten-year-old) woke me this morning I had no idea what the day would have in store for me.  I figured that it’d be another boring old day without anything exciting or amazing happening.  Then I opened my RSS reader…

Yes, you read that right, Kangaroo Salad. I just threw this one together, and it was delicious! If you have never eaten kangaroo meat before you are really missing out. It tastes a tiny bit gamey, but not so much that even folks who normally don’t like gamey meat would still enjoy kangaroo.

This is part two of the two part series on understanding motivation.  In the previous article I gave the definition of motivation as being a desire held in expectation with the belief that it will be realised, and talked a little about basic human drives.  In follow on from that article, this one discusses the different types of motivation.  And you’ll discover what works and what doesn’t.

This is part one of a two part series on understanding motivation.

By developing the techniques and art of self-motivation, you learn to use more of your untapped potential.  In a word, you become more successful.  If you are a regular reader here you’ll remember that success is defined as the progressive realisation of worthwhile predetermined goals.  Now, just as that is a fairly unusual definition, the definition of motivation that I’m going to give you is equally as unusual…

Self Image

Everyone who is successful knows the vital role that self-image plays in the achievement of success.  I’m not talking about conceit or a super-inflated ego, but a wholesome self-respect, a positive self-image that recognises human potential.

Medals, Awards, and Accolades

We all live in an abundant world.  We are surrounded by opportunity and have the freedom to choose to make of it what we will.  It seems logical that you should always be happy.  Fear, doubt, or worry should be unknown.  But this is probably not the case.  Unlike other animals, human beings are not content to merely eat, sleep, and reproduce.  We seek a purpose in life.  Without going into too much detail, that pretty much boils down to: your purpose is to realise your potential.  You were given life so that you might make of it a success.  But what is success?
