Hello and Welcome!

My name is Steve Youngs and I am the founder and admin here at Steve Youngs dot Com.  Now, even though the site bares my name, it isn’t about me at all.  In fact, it isn’t really about any one thing.  Steve Youngs dot Com cannot be pigeon-holed into any one category, niche, or topic.  Yeah yeah I know, that goes against everything you’ve heard about successful blogging sites.  The thing is, my interests and passions are too broad and varied to be tied down to any one particular topic.  And I bet your’s are too.  This is why Steve Youngs dot Com exists.

The Topics We Cover

• Blogging.  Where you’ll find articles about… you guessed it, blogging.  Including everything from the technical aspects of installing and maintaining blog software such as WordPress, to things like getting more traffic, or even article ideas and tips.
• Business & Marketing.  Everything related to online business, but not restricted to solely the online variety.  Traditional bricks and mortar style business and marketing is covered as well.  We’ll even cover that beaten to death topic of making money online.
• Food & Fitness.  Looking for a great recipe?  This is where you’ll find it.  This is also where you’ll come for health and fitness tips and news.  We’ll try to keep the recipes as healthy as we can, but some of them will no doubt cause you to load on the kilos simply by looking at them!
• General.  A catch all area for articles that don’t fit into any of the other categories.
• Getting Your Geek On.  For all things geeky.  We’ll take a look at all the latest gadgets, and coolest software.  This is where you’ll come to satisfy your geek lust.
• Interviews & Reviews.  Where we interview stuff and review people.  No wait… where we interview people and review stuff.   In this case, “stuff” is products, services, gadgets.  Pretty much anything that you can buy (within reason).  And “people” is anyone worthy of an interview (providing that they are willing to be interviewed of course).
• Self Development.  Tips for making you the best you you can be.
• Fiction.  This is the area that I am most excited about.  There’ll be no tips or howtos here, no news, no sales, no agenda.  Just fiction.  Pure fiction.  Pure entertainment.  There could be thriller stories, mysteries, sci-fi, fantasy, poetry, anything.  Anything as long as it is fictional and not X-rated.  There’ll be no adult-only content here.  Some of the pieces will be short self-contained works, while others will be much longer, novel sized works spread over several articles

Community

This site is all about communities.  Firstly there is the obvious community of readers.  That’s you!  But we also want to foster a great community of writers as well (that could also be you!).  We welcome contributions of articles in any of the above categories from great writers just like you from all over the world.  If you have an itch to venture outside your chosen niche from time to time, then Steve Youngs dot Com is your lotion to sooth that itch.  Of course, if you want to write in your niche we’d still love to have your contributions.

Monetisation

Yes, Steve Youngs dot Com will have various monetisation strategies applied to it.  In fact, some are already in place like Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, and Infolinks.  Further down the track other things such as affiliate sales, and sales of my own products (ebooks, ecourses, consultancy, etc,) will be added.  Possibly even products and services from some of our regular writers.

I will promise you one thing… any product or service that is promoted on Steve Youngs dot Com will be legitimate and reputable.  I value my name and reputation highly, and it is exactly that which is on the line when any product or service is promoted here.  You will never find any scams here.  You have my solemn word on that!  And if you ever do, just let me know and it will be removed immediately upon receipt of sufficient proof.

The Future

Let me state that whatever I say about the future of Steve Youngs dot Com is only a possible future.  Nothing is set in stone.  A couple of things that may be coming are a newsletter, and a premium members only section.  I’m not going to go into any details of either of those because both are still very much in the pre-planning stage.  I think both will be very exciting and you’ll not want to miss out, so stay tuned.
