Very quick intro from Dad… This article was written by my gorgeous almost-ten-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn.  It was all her idea and the only thing I had to do was fix 2 typo’s.  Well done, baby!  Love you sooooooo much!  Now, over to Kaitlyn…

Mother’s Day is the best day of the year in my opinion.

I like Mother’s Day because you get to spoil your Mum for all the work she’s done.  Like going to work, washing up, making dinner, taking their kids to school, looking after their kids, making lunches and lots of other things.  And Mums should be appreciated for what they do.  I am only nine and I still have heaps more to say about Mother’s Day!  I think Mums like it the best when you give them a hug and a kiss.

To give you an example, I write my mum a letter…

Dear Mummy,

I hope you love Mother’s day.   l was the one who asked Daddy for the coffee and banana smoothy.  And I hope you love the presents.

Love from Kitty-Kat Kaitlyn Rose Bear.

That’s my example of a Mother’s day letter.  And here is a picture of the Mother’s Day card I made for my Mum…

Mum & Me

My Mum, and me

Help me write more great articles like this, fuel my mojo with a coffee!

I'm Kaitlyn and I am 10 years old. I'll be in grade 6 next year. I love playing netball and helping my Dad cook dinner.

  2. Dear Kaitlyn,
Forget writing for your dad’s blog, will you come and write on mine? ;) What a beautiful tribute to your mum. The letter and card are wonderful. I’m sure you made your mum very happy :)

It’s past her bed time so she’s fast asleep right now. I’m sure she’ll want to reply to your comment tomorrow, Eleanor, when she gets home from school.

About making Mum happy… her Mum hasn’t seen it yet. Kaitlyn made me promise to keep Mum away from my site until Sunday (Mother’s Day). I think for the surprise value. :-)

Also, you might have to wait a short while for your guest post from her… she has 2 unfinished drafts in her dashboard here that need to be finished and published first. However, I know that she will be tickled pink knowing that somebody from another country would like her to write for them. She’ll be so excited when she reads about that.

Oh, and Blake said that he wants to write something for his Mum too, so look out for an article from him very soon (he’s 8).

      Kind regards,
      Steve

A quick explanation about the writing on Kaitlyn’s card there…

    It is supposed to say

    No allergies, Yay!

Both Kaitlyn and her Mum suffer (sometimes, quite badly) from hay fever.

  4. Here in the UK, Mother’s Day is in March, hence the reason I didn’t know when you guys were celebrating it ;) Can’t wait to read what your son comes up with. You’ll fast become the blogging equivelent of the Von Trapp family ;) I don’t doubt that it will go down beautifully on Sunday :)

  7. Coffee and Banana? You have good taste. :)

You’re quite right, mothers do much and should be appreciated. I never understood having just one day of the year with which to express that, though. :\
